No injuries from early morning Wheaton garage fire

No injuries reported in an early morning fire today in Wheaton.

At about 4:45 a.m., the Wheaton Fire Department was called to the 400 block of North Washington Street where firefighters encountered a blaze in the attached garage of a single-family home, fire officials said.

The blaze was under control within several minutes and was contained to the garage.

Following investigation, the cause of the fire is deemed accidental and appears to be related to an electrical issue. It is unrelated to severe weather from earlier, fire officials said.

No damage estimate was available. The residents were able to return to their home, officials said.
