Willows Academy Class of 2021

Graduates in the Class of 2021: 34.

Valedictorian: Sofia Ullman.

Salutatorian: Zosia Czarnik.

Class Officers: President - Morgan Villalovos; Vice President- Sofia Ullman; Secretary - Sofia Faillaci; Treasurer - Emma Dunaway; Trustee - Barbara Burns.

Academic and extracurricular achievements:

• Anne/Pili Rogg: Received a Scholastic Art Gold Key Award for the Midwest area (awarded to the top 5-7% of all entries in U.S.) for her sculpture titled "Resurrection."

• Advanced Art Senior students received over $484,000.00 in college scholarships through juried art shows/exhibits.

• Anne/Pili Rogg and Joanna Kryczka had artwork chosen for the ArtConnectEd Illinois High School exhibition in the Senior Scholarship Exhibit.

Athletic achievements:

• Tala Cassata and Emi Ciesla, all-conference basketball players .

Theater productions:

• "Suessical the Musical," featured six seniors: Annie Adams, Sofia Faillaci, Margaret Holohan, Grace Kurkowski, Maureen Penner and Clare Stangel.

What traditional events were adapted for the pandemic and how?

• Moved Field Day to Spirit Week and adapted the outdoor activities to indoor activities with social distancing.

• Halloween - Students dressed up and walked through the hallways.

• Christmas Party - Student Council ran virtual Zoom Assembly and class lip syncs were prerecorded. Students were served food in small groups keeping the fun Christmas spirit alive! Kris Kringle was adjusted to make it work despite absences when people had to quarantine .

• Easter Carnival outdoors to allow for social distancing while keeping the fun spirit.
