Extended runs of success lowers Crochet's ERA to 0.49
Rookie relief pitcher Garrett Crochet extended his run of scoreless innings to 13 Tuesday night after retiring all three Toronto hitters he faced.
The left-hander has not skipped a beat since returning from the injured list on May 7 after missing 10 days with an upper back strain.
"I wouldn't say it's say it's been seamless, just kind of before I was feeling out my rhythm right when I got off the IL and now I'm just kind of attacking the zone and finding my rhythm from there," said Crochet, who is 2-2 with a 0.49 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 18⅓ innings.
"It was really just kind of a mindset change after going on the IL and I think that's helped me a good bit."
