Glendale Heights nixes festival

Glendale Heights Fest is canceled for the second year in a row, the village announced Friday.

The coronavirus pandemic is again to blame, according to a village news release.

The five-day summer festival, planned around the Glendale Heights' July 13 anniversary, has been running annually since 1983 and draws a crowd of over 50,000, according to the release.

Next year's event is planned for July 13-17.
