Taste of Roselle welcomes vendors, sponsors
The Taste of Roselle will be returning Friday to Sunday, July 30 to Aug. 1 on Main Street. The festival, which has been a staple of the summer festival season since 1982, was canceled last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
"With the state currently in the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois Plan, and Phase 5 very likely coming in June, we are ecstatic to start planning for the festival season this summer," said Roselle Mayor David Pileski. "The Taste of Roselle is one of the biggest celebrations in the village, and I am looking forward to reconnecting with our community at the Taste this summer."
The Taste of Roselle is sponsored by the Roselle Lions Club, which is currently seeking food vendors for the three-day event.
"We're optimistic about our ability to host a full-scale Taste and are actively seeking vendors to help us host this time-honored summer block party," said Marc Hoarle, Roselle Lions Club Member and Taste of Roselle chair. "Vendors, sponsors, and other groups interested in participating are encouraged to visit www.rosellelions.com to sign up. We can't host this event without our partners."
The festival will be 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, July 30; noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 31; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1.
To gauge interest and availability, the Lions are offering zero down payment for food and craft vendor applications.

Prior to the announcement of the state moving into the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois Plan, Roselle officials canceled large-scale special events and festivals through the end of June based upon the gathering size limitations and deadlines with vendors. Similarly, the village was unable to schedule fireworks for the Independence Day Celebration on July 3, but planning is underway for a fireworks display Labor Day weekend on Sept. 4 at Lake Park High School West Campus.
The Taste of Roselle will be planned to follow up-to-date COVID-19 guidelines as recommended by the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health for 2021.
