White Sox uniforms get a new look

The White Sox unveiled a new uniform Friday out of the Nike MLB City Connect Series.

Set to debuted in next Saturday's game against the Tigers, the uniforms are emblazoned with "Southside" and "Chi" is on the cap.

Shortstop Tim Anderson had some input in the design.

"We wanted to do something cool and kind of be authentic," Anderson said. "I think this is as authentic as it gets, having Southside on the front. It's relatable. Just using that term, it definitely makes it a lot more realistic to people who actually grew up on the South Side and have been Sox fans their whole life. I think it's definitely real relatable and think it's really cool."

Southside player jerseys sold out Friday at the Chicago Sports Depot in three hours. Anderson's jersey sold out in two hours.

A limited supply of the Nike MLB City Connect Southside retail items, including hoodies and caps, remain available at the Chicago Sports Depot.

New jerseys will be available June 4-5 at the Chicago Sports Depot as well as a White Sox Watch Party event at Navy Pier on June 5.
