Report: White Sox to sign another Cuban star

According to mlb.com, the Sox are expected to add another standout player from Cuba when the international signing period begins in mid-January.

Oscar Colas reportedly has a $2.7 million bonus in place from the White Sox.

Known as the "Cuban Ohtani" for his ability to excel as a hitter and pitcher, the 22-year-old Colas is projected to be a corner outfielder.

A 6-foot-1, 210-pounder, Colas played in Japan and Cuba in 2019.

In 66 games in the minors with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Japan, the left-hander hit .302/.350/.516 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI. In 7 games with the Nippon Professional Baseball club, Colas hit .278 with 1 homer and 2 RBI.
