Sox reliever Jace Fry on rehab assignment with Class AAA Charlotte
After having a microdiscectomy on Jan. 7, White Sox relief pitcher Jace Fry is at Class AAA Charlotte on a rehab assignment.
The 27-year-old lefty pitched 1 scoreless inning and had 2 strikeouts and 1 walk against Norfolk on Thursday.
"So far, the workouts before he was assigned and now the first appearance, he's on track," manager Tony La Russa said. "Getting him back would be welcome. He would be a real veteran arm with success that would be helpful."
In 18 games with the Sox last season, Fry was 0-1 with a 3.66 ERA.
