Sign up for Lazarus House Great Western Freedom 4 Run/Walk

Lazarus House has opened early bird registration for the annual Great Western Freedom 4 Run/Walk on July 4 at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles.

In 2019, nearly 300 patriotic participants started their holiday running or walking to help their neighbors in need.

All proceeds benefit Lazarus House, a 501(c)3 nonprofit emergency shelter, Center for Transitional Living, and homeless prevention program for men, women and children who are homeless or in crisis from Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, or western rural Kane County.

The competitive 4-mile race is on a USATF certified course and is part of the Fox River Trail Runners Circuit. The 2-mile scenic walk is suited for the whole family to enjoy.

Performance T-shirts to the first 100 registered runners and cotton t-shirts given to the next 150 runners and walkers. No strollers allowed in the 4- Mile Competitive run. Strollers welcome in the 2-mile Scenic walk.

Early bird registration is $30 for runners, $22 for walkers until May 31.

The fee from June 1-30 will be $36 for runners, and $26 for walkers. A $3 pre-registration race discount offered to Fox River Trail Runners, Dick Pond Fast Track, CARA, Fast Track Race Team, and Performance Runner members through June 30. Only one discount per person. Children, age 7 and younger, are free for the walk only.

Registration is open at lazarushouse.ejoinme.org/GreatWesternFreedom4RunWalk2021 or visit www.lazarushouse.net.
