Local Pediatrician publishes book to help parents

Dr. Kristen Cook of Gurnee IL recently published her first book, "I Got You Mama: A Pediatrician's Guide to Surviving and Thriving During Pregnancy, Childbirth and the First Year of Your Baby's Life". It is a no holds barred approach with information that not often talked about...but also essential for parents to understand.

Topics in Dr. Cook's book include pregnancy loss, understanding the pregnant body, induction of labor, what actually happens during and immediately after childbirth, post partum depression, breast feeding challenges, sleep deprivation, mom guilt and so much more.

Dr. Cook has drawn on both her own personal experiences as a mom as well as over 10 years of practicing as a pediatrician. She hopes that this book will be a source of support and understanding for parents.
