Cary-area man accused of possession of child porn

A Cary-area man has been charged with 15 counts of possession of child pornography.

Donald J. Schroeder, 32, was arrested Thursday by McHenry County sheriff's deputies and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force at his home on the 2400 block of Oakdale Terrace, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security began the investigation in February 2020

Schroeder is being held on $100,000 bail and is due in court Friday morning.
