Last call to support Kane 4-H Foundation drive-thru dinner fundraiser

Take a night off from cooking dinner and support your local community with the Kane County 4-H Foundation's drive-thru dinner fundraiser on Saturday, March 27, at Lions Park in Elburn.

Tickets will be available until Thursday, March 18.

"This fundraiser is in lieu of our annual pork chop dinner and auction event," said Bill Collins, treasurer of the Kane County 4-H Foundation and event chairperson. "With everything this past year, we wanted to still find a way to support 4-H Youth Development programs in our communities, as well as other valuable University of Illinois Extension programs."

Dinner tickets are $20 and include a 2-chop meal with sides and dessert, as well as a 50/50 raffle chance. The pork chops will be prepared by the Elburn Lions Club, and served by that group, as well as Kane County 4-H families and Extension volunteers. COVID-19 safety precautions will be taken.

Pre-sale tickets for the drive-thru dinner are still available at the Kane County Extension office in St. Charles. The last days to stop in are March 15 through 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You also may contact Bill Collins at (630) 484-6852 or Doris Braddock at dbraddoc@illinois.edu or (630) 584-6166.

Day-of tickets will not be available. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Kane County Extension programs throughout the county, including 4‑H Youth Development, Home and Community Education Association, horticulture, Master Gardener, and nutrition and wellness programs.

"We are grateful for the community support we receive each year and are proud to give back to Extension," said Collins. "Local support through fundraisers such as this one is vital to maintain quality programs."
