First Division Museum hosts online World War II lecture

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mark Obmascik discusses his 2019 national best-seller, "The Storm on Our Shores: One Island, Two Soldiers, and the Forgotten Battle of World War II," as part of the First Division Museum at Cantigny Park's "Date with History" series.

The free virtual program is at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18, and focuses on the little-known Battle of Attu during World War II in 1943. The Zoom presentation requires advance registration at FDMuseum.org.

The First Division Museum in Wheaton currently is open Wednesday through Sunday. Entry is included with Cantigny Park's $5 parking fee, but advance ticketing is required to enforce temporary visitation limits. Masks are required.
