Northbrook police investigating carjacking

Northbrook Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred early Tuesday morning, officials said.

The owner of a Range Rover reported his vehicle was stolen about 6 a.m. while he was inside a store about on the 800 block of North Skokie Boulevard. The suspect, described as a Black male in his 20s, was in the vehicle when the owner came out of the store, according to a news release from the Northbrook Police Department.

The suspect displayed a handgun, police said, then fled onto Dundee Road toward the I-94 expressway.

The Range Rover was recovered in Chicago a few hours later. No one was injured.
