Dining events: Scorched Earth, Church Street breweries fete women with new brews

Fierce Females

To honor International Women's Day on Monday, March 8, Scorched Earth Brewing Co. in Algonquin is releasing Fierce Female IPA. And, even better, 10% of the sales will go to Girls on the Run of Northwest IL. Scorched Earth co-owner Jennifer Dallas says: “We wanted to support a local charity and Girls on the Run was the perfect fit for this project. Their vision to inspire girls and unleash their confidence is positive and empowering, which is exactly the message we want to convey with this project.” The new brew, a West Coast-style IPA, will be available through the brewery's online store and in the Algonquin tap room on Friday, March 5.

Scorched Earth Brewing Co. is at 203 Berg St., Algonquin, (224) 209-8472, scorched-earth-brewing-company.square.site/.

Peaches & Her

Church Street Brewing is also celebrating women by hosting a special release of the new limited beer Peaches & Her. Crafted by the women of the Pink Boots Society, the specialty brew will be released Friday, March 5, at the brewery. The following Friday, March 12, Church Street will be releasing the spring-inspired Strawberry Maibock.

Church Street Brewing is at 1480 Industrial Drive, Unit C, Itasca, (630) 438-5725, churchstreetbrew.com/.
