West Chicago cancels Railroad Days and Blooming Fest for 2021

Despite gains being made with COVID-19 vaccinations, West Chicago has canceled both Railroad Days in July and Blooming Fest on Saturday, May 15.

"While strides have been made to reduce the numbers of those infected in West Chicago and DuPage County, we're not there yet," Mayor Ruben Pineda said in a statement. "Like last year's cancellation of our special events, the decision is made with an abundance of caution and concern for all those involved and for the attending public."

Online activities and giveaways tied to Blooming Fest will be announced on its Facebook page closer to May. West Chicago officials will evaluate the return of city-sponsored events for later in the year.
