Rep. Bos Looking Forward to Opportunity Posed By Committee Assignments

LAKE ZURICH - The Illinois House of Representatives will soon begin its committee work for the newly minted 102nd General Assembly, the process by which the legislature evaluates proposed legislation. State Representative Chris Bos (R-Lake Zurich), who represents the 51st House District, said he is looking forward to the opportunity posed by the House Committees he has been assigned to for the new session.

Rep. Bos has been assigned to the following House Committees: Adoption & Child Welfare; Appropriations-Public Safety; Housing; Judiciary - Criminal; Mental Health & Addiction; along with Police & Fire.

"I'm excited for the committee process to get started," said Bos. "I hope my experience in the non-profit world, particularly working in various areas of supportive care for youth, will be an asset to several of the committees I'll be serving on. I'm also looking forward to bringing my experience with budget management to the Appropriations-Public Safety Committee. Ensuring the right balance that protects public safety funding and balances it with the state's financial backdrop is critically important."

As Bos referenced, his professional background includes a wealth of experience in areas providing support to youth, including organizations to rescue children and young adults from sexual exploitation and human trafficking. He recently filed, and is co-sponsoring, several pieces of legislation that explicitly address human trafficking and exploitation. Bos and his wife are also adoptive parents, and he is looking forward to bringing his personal experience in this area to improve the work of the Adoption & Child Welfare Committee.

The 51st House District covers all or portions of the communities of Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Deer Park, Forest Lake, Grayslake, Green Oaks, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Long Grove, Mettawa, Mundelein, North Barrington, Tower Lakes, Vernon Hills and Waukegan.
