Celebrate spring at the Wheeling Park District

Get your green on at the St. Patrick's Party! Fill your basket with candy- and toy-filled eggs at one of three age-specific hunts!

Shamrocks and rainbows make for a fun-filled and lucky afternoon at the Wheeling Park District St. Patrick's Party. Kids, ages 5-10 years, have a blast making crafts and playing themed games. Preregister by March 9, and drop off the kids at the Community Recreation Center (CRC) Saturday, March 13, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Thousands of eggs are yours for the taking at each of three hunts, tailored to specific age groups. The Friday Flashlight Egg Hunt is for kids, ages 7-12 years. Preregister by March 22, and bring your flashlight and basket to Heritage Park on March 26, from 8 to 8:30 p.m. Every child must be accompanied by one parent. All registered children receive a giveaway bag.

At the Spring Egg Scramble, for ages 3-8 years, children are separated into three groups, according to age, so everyone has an opportunity to find lots of candy- and toy-filled eggs. One parent may accompany each child but only children are allowed to collects the eggs. Preregister by March 24, for one of three morning time slots, and come to Heritage Park on Saturday, March 27. Bring a basket and snap a photo with the spring bunny at the socially-distanced backdrop. All registered children also receive a giveaway bag.

The Preschool Playground Egg Hunt is just for little ones, ages 1-3 years. Preregister by March 31, for one of three morning time slots, and come to the new, enclosed outdoor preschool playground at the CRC on Saturday, April 3. Bring a basket to collect the eggs. One adult is permitted to join each child. Mr. Bunny is expected to make a guest appearance. Giveaway bags for every registered child are included.
