Schaumburg library offers loans of laptop kits

Laptop kits are now available for checkout from the Schaumburg Township District Library.

Each kit contains either a 13-inch MacBook Pro or Lenovo T400 ThinkPad, with a computer bag, Wi-Fi hot spot and mouse.

The laptops are equipped with the Microsoft Office 2016 suite of programs, Zoom and Photoshop Elements. Borrowers should save their documents and photos to the cloud or on a flash drive, as all data will be wiped automatically after each login.

The kits may be checked out for two weeks by adults and teens who have a district library card and may be renewed if there are no other holds. Those who live in the library's service area but don't have a card can get one online at SchaumburgLibrary.org. Choose "Services" from the menu.

To check out a kit, go to the library's website and search "Laptop Kit" using the online catalog. Pick-up is available at all three library locations in Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park, but not from the outdoor lockers.
