Hallway of Love and Appreciation at Friendship Village of Schaumburg

In time for Valentine's Day, it's become a Hallway of Love and Appreciation. The staff of Friendship Village senior living community in Schaumburg has beautifully transformed the "connector," a hallway that connects two of the independent living buildings. It is now a gallery showcasing the staff's fondness for the residents.

"We put up various decorations that emanated Valentine's Day warmth and love. We created many hearts around the hallway, with the names of all the residents in independent living," said Amanda DeLaMatta, lifestyles activity coordinator. "Everyone who walks by loves it. We're very excited about it and plan to continue putting up decorations for the coming seasons and holidays."

For the preceding several weeks, the connector had been decorated as the Hall of Dreams in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King.
