Palatine Jaycee named to JCI membership team

Megan O'Brien appointed to JCI USA Membership Committee as a coach with the Established Chapters who have over 31 members.

JCI USA, the National affiliate of Junior Chamber International, recently appointed Megan to the 2021 Membership Development Team as a coach with the Established Chapters who have over 31 members. Megan a local member of the Palatine Jaycees, is one of thirteen (13) members of the National Membership Team. The Membership Development team is tasked with coaching over 350 chapters across the United States in membership recruitment, retention, engagement, and development.

Megan joined the Jaycees in 2017 and has served in numerous leadership roles at the local and state level. In 2018 she was awarded Jaycee of the Year for her active and engaged participation in the Palatine Jaycees. In 2019 she served as a Local Director to chapter members. Again, continuing her involvement, she became Community Vice President in 2020 and then in 2021 she became the Chapter Management Vice President. At the state level Megan as served as Poker Manager, Program Liaison and Presidential Assistant to the Illinois Jaycees State President.

The mission of JCI USA, also known as the Jaycees, is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. The Illinois Jaycees have chapters in, Bolingbrook, Cary Grove, Cherry Valley, Elmhurst, Frankfort, Kankakee, McHenry, Naperville, Lake County, Palatine, Schaumburg, Bloomington Normal, Champaign Urbana, Chatham, Havana, Hoopeston, Lexington, Menard County, Peoria, Princeton, Springfield, Sterling Rock Falls, Addieville, Aledo, Alhambra, Bethalto, Carlyle, Columbia, DuQuoin, Grantfork, Greenville, Hamel, Highland, Collinsville, Marine/St. Jacob, New Baden, South Mascoutah, Steeleville and Valmeyer consisting of young active citizens, ages 18 to 40, who devote their time to improving themselves personally and professionally while serving their respective communities.

Palatine Jaycees meet the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom (during COVID) and Arlington Lanes.
