College of DuPage board chair steps down, will serve as trustee

Frank Napolitano has stepped down as chair of the College of DuPage board and will complete his term, which ends in April, as a trustee.

Napolitano, a Bloomingdale resident and former COD student, was elected to the board in 2015 as a member of the "Clean Slate," which included Trustee Charles Bernstein and former trustee Deanne Mazzochi.

The announcement that Napolitano is stepping down as chair comes after he announced he would not seek reelection.

With Napolitano's resignation as chair, board Vice Chair Christine Fenne assumes the role until the board's organizational meeting this spring, per state law and board policy.

"Since Christine Fenne was elected four years ago, I have worked very closely with her," Napolitano said in statement. "I cannot think of a more qualified and deserving person to serve as chairman."

Fenne is a Wheaton resident who was elected to the board in 2017.
