Court status to determine counts of denial of substantive due process and violations of the Open Meetings Act had previously been scheduled for Feb. 11.

Metra changes
Due to decreased ridership and to deter vandalism, the village and Metra have adjusted hours at the downtown and Glen of Glenview train stations effective Jan. 11. Hours are 4:30 a.m.-6 p.m. The warming station at the Glen of Glenview station also will be temporarily closed.
Metra also adjusted schedules effective Jan. 11. This includes service on the Milwaukee North line. Check the schedule at metra.com.
To cut costs due to the diminished ridership, during this winter the village has closed and will not plow two ancillary parking lots serving the Glen of Glenview station and three lots serving the downtown station. Closures will be evaluated throughout winter gauged on ridership.
Hot topic in cold weather
The Glenview Park District is offering tractor-pulled wagon rides at a variety of village parks, and they've proven to be a hit.
The cost is $35 for residents and $40 for others for groups of up to 10 people, but winter wagon rides at The Grove on Jan. 16-17 already are sold out. As of this writing, a few slots remained available for rides at Gallery Park Jan. 23 and back at The Grove Jan. 30.
Time blocks are scheduled for every 20 minutes starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 1:40 p.m.
For information, visit the Glenview Park District at glenviewparks.org and search for "Winter Wagon Ride Pop Ups."
Tree disposal
Northfield Township Road District crews begin pick up of real pine Christmas trees in unincorporated areas only on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Trees should be left in the parkway, trunk side toward the street. Residents must remove lights, decorations, and stands and not leave trees in plastic bags. Wreaths, artificial trees, or other brush will not be accepted. For questions, contact Northfield Township Road District at ntroad@northfieldtownship.com or (847) 724-7055.
