Bloomingdale Chamber offers college scholarships

The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce will award multiple scholarships in amounts ranging from $500 to $1,500 to graduating high school or current college students.

Applicants must be planning to continue their education on a full-time basis at an accredited U.S. postsecondary college, university or vocational school to be eligible.

Chamber members or children of a member of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce or a resident of Bloomingdale may apply for the scholarship.

Applications are being taken online at www.BloomingdaleChamber.com until Friday, March 26.

Funds for the scholarships come from the generosity of chamber members and from fundraisers held throughout the year by member businesses.

Remember to "Shop Local" the next time you have a choice. It is not the online faceless stores helping your students, but your local businesses.

"Thank you so much for your commitment toward the scholarship despite the COVID-19 pandemic," said 2020 Scholarship award recipient Michael Ian Rabanal.

Bloomingdale Area Women in Business also offers a $1,000 scholarship to a woman looking to improve herself professionally by continued education or professional development. This scholarship is based on personal investment in education and career progressions, community involvement, including volunteer or employment positions, industry involvement, including networking and committee positions.

Applicants must be affiliated commercially within the surrounding Bloomingdale area.

For more information about either scholarship opportunity, visit www.BloomingdaleChamber.com.

Applications for both scholarships must be submitted by March 26.
