3 men accused of firing shots into air at Woodridge New Year's Eve party

Three men were charged with felony reckless discharge of a firearm, accused of firing shots into the air early New Year's Day in the backyard of a Woodridge house.

Kayzon T. Thomas, 23, of the 9600 block of South Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago; Frederick T. Sykes, 39, of the 9800 block of South Greenwood Avenue in Chicago; and Derico L. Catching Jr., 22, of the 8100 block of Carolwood Lane, Woodridge, were arrested Friday, according to DuPage County court records. Woodridge police said they were called at 12:26 a.m. to a house on Carolwood for reports of shots fired. A party was going on, and police believe the shots were fired in celebration.
