Bulls' Temple ready to play, ready with advice for young teammates

Garrett Temple was brought in to help bring more veteran leadership for the Bulls.

After recovering from COVID-19, Temple spent opening night on the bench, watching the Bulls get pounded by Atlanta. So what advice does he have for his younger teammates?

"Yeah, there's a lot of stuff," Temple said Saturday. "From telling Patrick (Williams) where to be from a defensive standpoint when the ball is on one side of the floor compared to when it's on the same side of the floor as you. Telling guys to eat breakfast, making sure they eat before they come in, things like that, really.

"Talking to guys like Coby (White) about how to find a way about playing his own game, scoring type of game, but also making sure the team is in the right spots, trying to find that right balance. This is going to be a year of learning for these guys, obviously, but we just hope that we can stay competitive and win games while they're learning."

After shootaround, Temple said he felt healthy enough to play Saturday against Indiana. He tested positive just before training camp began and returned to practice on Monday, after roughly three weeks at home.

"I feel pretty good," he said. "My legs are getting under me. I feel like I should be able to play, if not tonight then tomorrow."
