No injuries in Island Lake house fire

Damage was estimated at $100,000 after a fire struck a home Friday night in Island Lake.

At 6:17 p.m., the Wauconda Fire District was called to the fire on the 800 block of Canterbury Lane.

They had the fire under control in about 16 minutes, extinguishing it with a hand line.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
