Fox Valley Orthopedics helps children in need celebrate the holidays

This year, physicians and employees at Fox Valley Orthopedics kicked off their holiday season by giving to local children through the Salvation Army-Elgin, Salvation Army-Tri-City, Community Crisis Center, Breaking Free, and Mutual Ground.

Twenty-nine children, ages 1 to 12, will receive gifts from their wish lists.

"This year, community groups challenged us to donate items that would help keep kids occupied indoors this winter," said Fox Valley Orthopedics' Chief Executive Officer Barry Mathews. "Our employees really stepped it up with everything from games and puzzles to books and toys."

Throughout the year, Fox Valley Orthopedics participates in community events, and sponsors local high schools, little leagues, CASA Kane County, and Tri-City Family Services.

Philanthropy and community service are key components to the practice's mission, with staff choosing which charities to support each year.

Fox Valley Orthopedics provides complete outpatient orthopedic care, including sports medicine, spine, total joints, hand and wrist, foot and ankle, and pain management. All of the surgeons are fellowship-trained, and have received additional training in their specific area of expertise. FVO Ambulatory Surgery Center and in-house imaging also provides cost-effective convenient care, as well as Ortho First, FVO's immediate care walk-in clinic.
