Police investigating after 18 cars vandalized in Cary

Cary police are investigating at least 18 reports of car vandalism in a residential area over the weekend, officials said.

Surveillance footage from Friday and Saturday evening shows two subjects approaching vehicles and etching words into the paint with an unknown object, according to a release from the Cary Police Department.

The residential area affected is bordered by Three Oaks Road to the north, Wooded Knoll Drive to the south, Montana Drive to the west and Lyons Ridge Drive to the east, according to the release.

Cary police are asking residents in this area to share any footage of the evenings between 6 and 11 p.m. through the Ring Neighbors App or by calling Cary Police Department Investigations Section at (847) 639-2341.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Investigations department or Crime Stoppers at (800) 726-7876.
