Dr. David Lewis Installed as 2021 Vice President of the Chicago Dental Society

November 30, 2020 (CHICAGO) - With more than three decades of experience practicing general dentistry, David Lewis Jr., D.D.S., of Glenview, Illinois, was sworn in as 2021 Vice President of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) on November 8. Dr. Lewis previously served as Treasurer, Program Chair for the 2015 CDS Midwinter Meeting, and Director and President of the CDS North Suburban Branch.

As Vice President, Dr. Lewis will focus on planning and driving attendance for the 156th Midwinter Meeting, taking place virtually February 25-27, 2021. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events. This year's virtual format will offer attendees access to courses taught by world-class speakers and today's leaders in dental innovation, live exhibits, and networking opportunities with colleagues and friends, all from the comfort and convenience of their office, home or even on the go.

Dr. Lewis holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame, earned his dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, and completed his dental general practice residency at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. In addition to his leadership roles with CDS, he served as an Illinois State Dental Society delegate and is also a member of the American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, and the Conley Dental Study Club. Dr. Lewis was also an instructor in the Department of Comprehensive Oral Health Care at University of Illinois at Chicago and an Attending Clinician at Illinois Masonic Medical Center Department of Dentistry serving the Homebound Program and the Special Patient Program.

Dr. Lewis lives in Glenview, Illinois with his wife, Dr. Christine Culp, who is also a practicing general dentist and CDS member. They have two daughters, Anne and Kathleen. In his free time, Dr. Lewis enjoys reading, biking, and traveling with his family. Dr. Lewis is also a charter member of the Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise since its founding in 1988.

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
