Gail Borden Library's Virtual Holiday Hunt kicks off Dec. 8
While the library buildings are closed for health precautions during this COVID-19 surge, Gail Borden Public Library continues to offer many services.
The library district continues to loan books and movies via drive-up and curbside services, provide bookmobile visits and offer contactless home delivery service.
The library has recently added printing services for up to up 20 pages at no charge and one on one virtual assistance for technology, general reference, job hunting and more.
Gail Borden continues to offer virtual programming for all ages.
One of the recent videos, “DIY Baking: Hot Chocolate Bombs with Elda,” just became the library's hottest video, with over 6,000 views.
The library story times continue to engage large audiences on Facebook and YouTube.
Virtual Holiday Hunt
On top of all those services, the library is now offering a virtual Holiday Hunt where people can take a self-guided 360° tour through the buildings to discover staff members with secret words.
Staff members will talk briefly about library amenities as well as well as attractions in the community.
Virtual visitors can also play an Atari-like holiday game along the way. For those who solve the simple puzzle, there will be a fun reward at the drive-up window starting Dec. 8.
To meet the tour guide Santa Nicki, who uses the River Room fireplace to make an entrance, go to gailborden.info/holidayhunt.
By the way, real-life Santa Nicki, Dominique, is part of the genuine library Santa team, purchasing books, movies and more for all to enjoy.
Feel free to hunt more than once as the library staff will be changing it up from time to time this holiday season.
