Ward appointed St. Charles Park District commissioner
Longtime St. Charles resident Steven Ward emerged from a list of four finalists to be appointed to fill an empty commissioner seat on the St. Charles Park District Board.
The announcement was made at last week's park district board meeting, where Ward was sworn in to fill the spot vacated when Mike Hoscheit stepped down last month after spending three years on the board.
"All of the applicants possessed traits, skills and education that would benefit the district and its residents," said Park District Board President James F. Cooke. "It was a difficult decision but the board, as a team, selected Steve and looks forward to working with him."
Ward's seat will be one of four park district board positions open during the consolidated election in April.
