Foglia YMCA celebrates 20 years

This year marks the Foglia YMCA's 20th anniversary. Since the Foglia YMCA opened in 2000, it has provided more than $3 million in financial assistance to community members in need.

Donations from the community and visionary founders Vince Foglia, Jim Leopardo, John Sfire and Karl von Heimburg have made it possible for thousands of children to attend summer camp, learn to swim, engage in sports programs, and to attend before and after school programs.

"They have enabled us to provide a safe place for families to share time together and for seniors to have an opportunity to connect with others while improving their physical health and mental wellness," said Foglia Executive Director Anthony Janca.

Most recently, Foglia introduced a robust Remote Learning Support program to help families successfully manage their children’s virtual instruction.

"We are extremely grateful to all of our supporters," said Jamie Maravich, chair of the YMCA board of directors. "Together, we can ensure that all families, regardless of their personal financial situation, can continue to access the programs and services upon which our community has come to rely."

"We would like to take this opportunity to express our tremendous gratitude to one of our founders who is also an active member of our board of directors, Vince Foglia; he continues to amaze us with his generosity and leadership," Janca said.

The Foglia YMCA has reopened and added safety and cleaning measures. Members are required to reserve time online in advance to use the facility.
