Capannari Ice Cream Pivots to Celebrate Community All Winter Long

A distant eight months ago, Capannari Ice Cream opened the doors for their 20th season only to be shut down the very next day.

According to Katie Dolan Dix, co-owner of Capannari Ice Cream,"It was that infamous March 14th day, that we truly began to understand the meaning of the word pivot."

They closed the store to the public but were able to utilize an existing side window to keep the business running through the summer as a walk-up establishment.

Capannari Ice Cream is navigating through these trying times by continually adjusting to what is called for to keep everyone safe and what creative ways they can share their ice cream with the community.

Winter is coming and so is the next pivot. Thinking outside the cone, Capannari Ice Cream is excited to launch its Subscription Kits and Holiday Gift Baskets.

"We have partnered with local Mount Prospect businesses to create a basket full of everything Mount Prospect," states Katie Dolan Dix.

In addition to the Mount Prospect Basket, there is a Night on the Town Basket, a Pints and Growlers Basket and a DIY Basket with fun crafts for the entire family. And yes, every kit includes Capannari Ice Cream pints too.

The Capannari Subscription Boxes are available for one , three, and six month membership.

Each month, Capannari's will offer a new themed DIY kit filled with ingredients to make some of their favorite ice cream treats, plus other bonus goodies. There is a Game Night Kit that has a deck of cards, a trivia game and all the fixings for a Hot Chocolate Affogato. In May, they will deliver a Mother's Day Kit with construction paper, stickers, and glitter to make Mom a card. The best part is, you are the soda jerk for the day and you will have all the fixins to make a rolled ice cream sandwich. Perfect gift from the kids to Mom.
