Glenview's Emerald Place residents making care packages - and they need your help
Memory care residents at Emerald Place in Glenview are preparing care packages for local seniors in need, and they're asking the community to donate items to put inside.
"Many of our residents are lifelong volunteers committed to making their community a better place to live," said Kim Reichert, community relations director at Emerald Place. "They continue to want to help others, and that's the focus of the Seniors Serving Seniors program."
The memory care community is seeking donations for the care packages, including blankets, books, coffee mugs, water bottles, hats, mittens, packaged treats, letters and cards. Items may be dropped off in a box outside the community entrance through December. Emerald Place hopes to continue other types of community outreach throughout the year through its Seniors Serving Seniors program.
Emerald Place is operated by Anthem Memory Care.
