Glenview firefighters battle blaze at abandoned home

No injuries were reported by Glenview firefighters who extinguished a blaze early Friday morning at an abandoned house on the 2200 block of Sanders Road.

Glenview Fire Department officials said they were called to the vacant two-story, single-family home just after midnight by a passing motorist.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the house engulfed in fire. Fire officials said it took less than an hour to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters were on scene until 3 a.m. handling hot spots and performing salvage operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fire officials said the house has been vacant for several years.
