Elburn to extend trick-or-treat hours Oct. 31

The Village of Elburn will be extending trick-or-treating hours for this year on Halloween, Oct. 31, in an effort to assist in social distancing for those who wish to participate in trick-or-treating.

This year, the recommended hours will be 4 to 8 p.m.

Additionally, they encourage those who will be out trick-or-treating to follow the Centers for Disease Control recommended guidelines as well as to pay attention to porch lights or signs indicating if homes are passing out candy this year.

They encourage residents to leave their exterior porch lights on if they are welcoming trick-or-treaters and to turn exterior porch lights off if they are not participating this year.

The village will also be posting some signs at www.elburn.il.us/halloween-trick-or-treating-2020/ that residents can download and print off to post in a front door or window indicating if they are passing out treats or not.
