Fox Valley Orthopedics to host blood drive Oct. 21

Blood is one of the most precious gifts one individual can give another. Every two seconds someone needs blood in the U.S., whether it be for an accident victim, cancer patient, surgery patient or those affected by natural disasters. There is currently an urgent need for donors. To ensure the Fox Valley has an adequate blood supply, community residents are invited to participate in Versiti Blood Center of Illinois Mobile Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the mobile coach outside of Fox Valley Orthopedics North Building, 2535 Soderquist Court in Geneva.

Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is encouraged. A non-expired photo identification will be needed at the time of the donation. Panera Bread is donating a healthy to-go meal to all donors. Raffle entry for all who attempt to donate!

"Social distancing and other COVID-19 safety measures will be in place and wearing a mask will be necessary," Fox Valley Orthopedics CEO Barry Mathews said. "We are making the entire processes as touchless as possible."

The blood drive is sponsored by Fox Valley Orthopedics and ATI Physical Therapy.
