Milton Township supervisor pleads guilty to DUI

Milton Township Supervisor Chris Heidorn pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.

In exchange for his plea, he was sentenced to 12 months of court supervision, according to DuPage County court records.

Heidorn, whose full name is Orrin Christopher Heidorn, was charged with DUI and improper lane use at 12:09 a.m. Oct. 20, 2019.

According to Carol Stream police, Heidorn was driving a Chevrolet Equinox east on North Avenue, approaching Gary Avenue, when an officer pulled him over.

Heidorn either refused to submit, or failed, testing at the time, according to a form notifying him that his license was being summarily suspended in December 2019.

But Heidorn's attorney said in a motion to rescind the suspension that Heidorn did not refuse or fail a test.

Heidorn, 65, lives in the 22W100 block of Valleyview Drive near Glen Ellyn. The Republican has been the Milton Township supervisor since 2001.

His current term expires in April.

Attempts to reach Heidorn on Tuesday were unsuccessful.

Heidorn will have to participate in DUI counseling, attend a victim-impact panel, and pay $2,631 in fines and fees.
