Pedestrian hit by car on Roosevelt Road in Wheaton

A stretch of Roosevelt Road in Wheaton was closed to traffic after a car struck a pedestrian Monday morning, police said.

The crash left the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police shut down eastbound Roosevelt - and then both directions - from West Street to Gables Boulevard so the investigation team can do work on the scene. By 12:30 p.m., Wheaton officials announced the work was completed and that the roadway was reopened.
