Hawthorn School for Young Learners Students Meet Nessie, the Bearded Dragon

Joanne Schorsch, a kindergarten teacher at the Hawthorn School for Young Learners, virtually introduced Nessie to her students on Sept. 2. Nessie, the school's new pet, is a one-year-old bearded dragon. He likes to eat berries, greens, crickets and worms, and has a friendly disposition. The children were excited to meet him. The Hawthorn School for Young Learners is among eight schools and an early childhood center that make up Hawthorn School District 73 in Vernon Hills, Illinois.
