Naperville Sports Weekly launches Season 14

Naperville Community Television, Channel 17 announced the return of Naperville Sports Weekly, on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

The premiere of Season 14 launches with brand new content, a new look, and can be viewed on Channel 17 in Naperville (Comcast and WOW!) and Channel 99 throughout the Chicago area (AT&T) or online via simulcast and on-demand video at NCTV17.com.

Naperville Sports Weekly is the only hyper-local television program that covers both boys' and girls' varsity sports from all six Naperville-area high schools: Benet Academy, Naperville Central, Naperville North, Neuqua Valley, Metea Valley and Waubonsie Valley.

This year, they are welcoming seasoned sports anchor, Kevin Jackman, of their award-winning and action-packed North Central College football program, "The Red Zone," as the new host of Naperville Sports Weekly.

Jackman is excited to host during such a unique time for athletes, "After months of limited or no sports, I think I can speak for all sports fans in saying: We're ready! Let's dive right into the highlights, let's talk about these amazing athletes and let's discuss the important sports issues of today."

Coming off a year where the winter and spring sports seasons were stopped short and heading into a year where the IHSA has rescheduled the playing season for many high school sports, Season 14 of Naperville Sports Weekly will continue to bring viewers the most memorable plays as well as post-game interviews.

"We feel a need to make up for lost time for these prep athletes," Jackman says. "It's going to look different, it's going to sound different, but the action is going to remain the same and we're thrilled to share as much of it with the community as possible."

Staying true to the show's roots, Naperville Sports Weekly will continue producing game highlights and sport stories as well as special segments like the "Player Profile," "Where Are They Now," "Coaches Corner," and the ever-popular "Play of the Week." The show will also have an exciting new in-studio discussion forum that will dive into interesting and trending sports topics relevant to students, athletes and fans alike. As always, all the show's content is available to watch and share on the station's website at NCTV17.com as well as YouTube channel.

This show, which supports our local prep athletes, would not be possible without the continuing support of the local business community. Returning as presenting sponsor is BMO Harris Bank, together with supporting sponsors Edward-Elmhurst Health, Molly Maid, and Edgewood. New sponsor Trunnell Insurance Services joins them.

So tune in on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. for the start of a great and unprecedented season of Naperville Sports Weekly.
