State lawmaker hosting food distribution for Aurora families

State Rep. Karina Villa will host a second distribution of roughly 42,000 pounds each of chicken and rice to families facing food insecurities during the coronavirus pandemic.

The West Chicago lawmaker helped organize the first "Pollo Palooza" in May. The second distribution will take place Saturday at Waubonsie Valley High School, 2590 Ogden Ave., in Aurora.

The donations are courtesy of Max Hurtado, president & CEO of Amigos Meat of Chicago, and Martin Maciel, president of Martin Produce, Inc.

Organizers will serve families from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, or until all the food has been distributed.

For details, contact Villa's office at (630) 326-9319 or email at StateRepKarinaVilla@gmail.com.
