Fox Lake cancels Fish Fest, other upcoming events

Fox Lake officials on Tuesday announced the cancellation of several upcoming special events and community programs because of health and safety concerns raised by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Canceled events include Fox Lake Fish Fest, Sept. 18-19; Senior Resource Fair, Oct. 15; Fox Lake Pumpkin Jubilee, Oct. 17; and Murder Mystery Dinner & Show, Oct. 23.

Community programs called off include GO Fox Lake Walk, Sept. 12; Senior Luncheon, Sept. 17; and Family Game Night. Sept. 25 and Oct. 16.

While all indoor fitness classes are canceled until further notice, the village's Parks and Recreation Department is offering two outdoor youth sports classes under Phase 4 guidelines that will begin Sept. 11, at Lakefront Park Building. More information can be found at www.foxlake.org.

The Fox Lake Farmers Market is still operating every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 29, at 17 E. School Court.
