Mount Prospect Fire Department blood drive Thursday

The Mount Prospect Fire Department is teaming with Vitalant and their Everyday Heroes program to host a community blood drive from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Fire Station 14, 2000 E. Kensington Road,

To schedule an appointment, call Vitalant at (877) 258-4825 or visit vitalant.org and use group code MP98. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Face coverings will be required. A blood donation includes a free test for COVID-19 antibodies.

A special First Responders Blood Drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Fire Station 14, The event is open to firefighters, police and public works employees of Mount Prospect and neighboring communities.

The next community blood drive is set for 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 1, Fire Station 14. Subsequent drives will take place the first Thursday of every month, at the same time and location.
