Palatine Knights of Columbus to hold Tootsie Roll Drive Sept. 19
The 2020 Tootsie Roll Drive will look very different this year.
For the first time in decades, the Knights of Columbus Holy Ghost Council 4977 volunteers will not be soliciting at street corners and stores in Palatine. In its place, the Knights have created two new ways to accept your generosity for the direct benefit of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Online donations are now accepted at www.Palatinetootsierolldrive.com.
If you are unable to attend the Sept. 19 drive-in donation event, contribute via the website. PayPal and major credit/debit cards welcome.
On Saturday, Sept. 19, "noncontact" drive-in donation sites will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers will be accepting and thanking you for your cash and check donations at five parking lots across the community.
You can find them at St. Theresa Parish, 455 N. Benton St., Palatine; Pleasant Hill Elementary School, 434 W. Illinois Ave., Palatine; Plum Grove Junior High School, 2600 Plum Grove Road, Rolling Meadows; Walter R. Sundling Jr. High School, 1100 N. Smith St., Rolling Meadows; and Winston Campus Jr. High School, 120 N Babcock Drive, Palatine.
From a safe social distance, volunteers with PPE will be accepting your donations - and giving you a thank you with a Tootsie Roll - using extension pole devices. Writing a check? Please address to "Holy Ghost Council #4977." Credit cards are not accepted at drive-in donation sites.
The Palatine Knights (www.facebook.com/kofc4977/) are hopeful that you will once again rise to meet our community's special needs and surpass last year's total of $27,000.
