Play in the parks with the Northbrook Park District
Whether you're looking for live music, games or quality time with family, Northbrook Park District is delivering the fun all summer long!
Live music, pop-up parties, athletics and family activities are among the exciting outdoor programs featured in the District's new Play in the Parks summer events Guide.
Private event packages are available with a variety of engaging themes, including painting, crafts, gameshows, cooking and baking, outdoor movies or build your own theme! Activities follow state and local health guidelines and ensure proper physical distancing. Have the party in one of the District's parks or choose to have staff members bring the pre-packaged fun to you. Shelter and picnic area rentals are also available in several park locations.
A Parent-Child Paint in the Park event is planned August 13. You can also bring the whole gang to the Family Olympics on August 22 to compete against neighbors and friends by engaging in physical activities, challenges and more. Activities also include a Family Dance Party in the Park on August 20.
Athletic opportunities are also included as Play in the Parks options. Asylum Skate Camp begins August 10. In addition, registration is now open for fall sports leagues such as Youth Soccer and Youth Flag Football.
Outdoor concerts are back for the summer with the addition of the Music at Meadowhill concert series. Three concerts will be held at the Ed Rudholph Velodrome from 7-8:30pm. Acts include Second Hand Soul Band on August 11, One Night Band on August 18 and The Millenials on August 25. Pre-registration is required for all concert events.
"We've planned our upcoming programs and events with families in mind," said Katie Kotloski, Recreation Division Manager. "It's important for people to feel comfortable as they begin to return to programs and we have taken many precautions to ensure everyone can have fun and enjoy themselves. I'm particularly excited about our new private event packages-the possibilities are endless!"
