Vernon Hills trustee resigns
Vernon Hills village Trustee Karimar 'Kari' Brown resigned Tuesday, saying she will be moving out of town.
Brown was appointed to the board in September 2018 to fill a vacancy created when longtime Trustee Cindy Hebda resigned and moved to Indiana.
While still a trustee, Brown ran unsuccessfully for the 18th District Lake County Board seat before being elected in April 2019 to a 4-year term on the village board. Brown and her husband, former Chicago Bear Alex Brown, have lived in Vernon Hills since 2002.
She said the couple want to be closer to family in Buford, Georgia, and be near their son as he prepares to play college baseball at Mercer University.
