Schaumburg body shop owners help nonprofits

In an effort to assist other families and neighboring businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, local body shop owners Ernie and Aurora De Loera of Collision Service Center of Schaumburg decided to take action.

Although auto body shops are considered an essential business, as indicated on the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity list of Essential Businesses and Operations, the lack of vehicles on the road has left a devastating impact on the entire industry.

In spite of this, the DeLoreas believe in supporting the community and decided to give back a portion of each qualifying auto body repair scheduled at Collision Service Center during May.

Customers were asked to choose one of two charities that Collision Service Center would donate to - Living Hope Food Pantry or WINGS Program, Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps victims of domestic violence and their children. In addition, customers were also given a $25 gift card to a local restaurant.

"We are so grateful to those who are able to support us in this effort, and will continue to look for ways to give back to the community that has been so generous to us. We hope this inspires others to support their communities also," the De Loeras said in a statement.
