Wauconda Girls raise money for the Wauconda Mobile Food Pantry selling bracelets

Wauconda residents Aubrey Isom and her friends Jasmine Saini came up with a way to keep themselves busy in these unusual times we are in. With sports canceled and pools closed, kids have had to get creative to eliminate boredom. The girls decided to make bracelets and sell them. For one week they set up a stand at the end of Isom's driveway and sold the bracelets for $2 each. Neighbors chipped in and provided signs for their little stand and many donated. After one week they raised over $591 in donations with one generous donor giving $500 to their fundraiser! Now the money will be delivered to the Mobile Food Pantry and be used to purchase food items as they run low each week. It is heartwarming to see our youth finding a way to give back to the community during these times of hardship.
